Greetings fellow snowmobilers!
At the DC Fly in the ACSA Board of Directors voted to, after a motion from Montana, commit to helping fund the legal challenge to a decision handed down in Idaho that has the potential to impact snowmobile trails in EVERY NATIONAL FOREST! The commitment was for up to $40,000.00!!!! Yes, you read that number right! ISMA is also committed to help with legal expenses.
As you all know, the majority of the Black Hills Trails system is in the BH National Forest. This could be one of the biggest land access issues organized snowmobiling has EVER faced. My request of all of you would be to get this word spread quickly and emphasize the need to raise a substantial amount of $$$ from snowmobilers!
In addition to spreading the word, I would also request each of you to recrui help from those dedicated individuals, clubs and snowmobile related businesses, by asking them to make a donation to the ACSA legal defense fund!
If those donations can be sent to the SDSA office, Greg Hiles or myself, we can make a presentation at Congress in early June.
I can't emphasize enough the potential scope of this decision and how critical it is to get it overturned!
Your help would be very much appreciated. Your contribution is tax deductible and checks can be ent to SDSA P O Box 206 Gary SD 57237.
Thank you in advance for all your help - and all you do to promote the sport of snowmobiling.
Duane Sutton, ACSA VP
